Land on Minsk's Peramozhtsaw Avenue to be redeveloped
Land on Minsk's Peramozhtsaw Avenue is to undergo redevelopment, Viktar Nikitsin, chairman of the city executive committee's architecture and construction department, said at a news conference in Minsk on Wednesday.
The department has already finished work on a design plan.
According to Mr. Nikitsin, the draft envisages the replacement of Belarusian State University's dormitory with a mixed commercial and retail developmen, the construction of a musical fountain, renovations at the Hotel Belarus and the area at the Nyamiha subway station, as well as the construction of a rowing center for children and youths beside the indoor soccer arena, of an indoor aqua park, and of two sports centers – rhythmic gymnastics and water sports centers – near the Drazdy Waters. The official said that the redevelopment of land on Dzyarzhynskaha Avenue was projected to be over by 2011. The plan envisages the construction of residential houses, three hospitals and commercial developments. //BelaPAN
