Belarusian trio place sixth at 2008 Junior Eurovision song contest
Belarus’ trio of Daryya Nadzina, Alina Molash and Karyna Zhukovich won the sixth place at the 2008 Junior Eurovision song contest held in Cyprus on November 22.
The Belarusian singers performed a Russian-language song called “The Heart of Belarus.”

A Georgian trio called Bzikebi (Wasps), all ten years old, won the contest with a total of 154 points with their song “Bzz...,” 19 points ahead of Ukraine’s entrant in the second place. Lithuania’s contestant got the third place with 103 points.
Entrants representing 15 countries, including six former Soviet Union states, took part in this year’s contest.
Belarusian singers Kseniya Sitnik and Alyaksey Zhyhalkovich won the contest in 2005 and 2007, respectively, while Andrey Kunets placed second in 2006. //BelaPAN
