Over 200 foreigners expelled from Belarus as result of police operation

More than 200 foreign citizens were expelled from Belarus as a result of a special operation conducted by the police between April 8 and 11 to find illegal migrants and other foreigners violating rules of stay in Belarus.

The police instituted 37 criminal cases against foreigners and detected more than 1,600 violations of migration rules, according to the interior ministry’s press office.

During the operation, police raided markets, railroad stations, dormitories and rented apartments. Special attention was devoted to the legality of the employment of foreign citizens by both private and state enterprises, in particular farms, the press office said. //BelaPAN
