Belarus beat Kazakhstan in World Cup qualifier

Belarus have completed their home fixtures in World Cup qualifying Group Six with a comprehensive victory over Kazakhstan in Brest.

Two goals by midfielder Tsimafey Kalachow helped Belarus to the 4-0 victory on Saturday.

Maksim Bardachow scored the only goal of the first half in the 23rd minute, before Mr. Kalachow doubled the lead with a 25-metre drive in the 69th.

Substitute Leanid Kovel grabbed the third in the 86th minute, before Mr. Kalachow ended the scoring with a header in the third minute of added time.

Neither team can qualify for next year`s World Cup from Group Six. England has clinched the top spot, and Croatia and Ukraine are chasing the runner-up spot.

Belarus beat Kazakhstan 5-1 in Almaty in April.

On Wednesday, Belarus will meet England.
