Minsk government allows Conservative Christian Party to march to Stalin-era massacre site this week
The Minsk City Executive Committee has permitted the Conservative Christian Party (CCP) to stage a march to a Stalin-era massacre site in Loshytsa Park on November 8, BelaPAN said.
The march will run from the Culture Palace of the Worsted Mill along Mayakowskaha Street to the memorial cross in Loshytsa Park that commemorates people executed there in 1937. The demonstration will start at noon and end with a rally.
"This is a traditional event to mark Dzyady, our Remembrance of Ancestors Day," CCP Secretary Valery Buyval told BelaPAN. "The march and the rally will take place in any weather conditions and will not be cancelled because of the flu epidemic in Minsk.”
