Belarus, Russia to sign agreements on supply, repair, modernization of weapons and military equipment
A large number of Belarusian-Russian agreements on the supply, repair and modernization of weapons and military equipment are expected to be signed soon, said the press office of the Belarusian defense ministry.
Work on the agreements is currently underway, the press office said.
Along with purchases of small arms and of components and equipment for aircraft and communications systems, the maintenance and modernization of aircraft and electronic warfare equipment and air defense equipment and weapons may be viewed as the most important part of military-technical cooperation between Belarus and Russia, the press office said.
According to it, proposals for stepping up cooperation in upgrading surface-to-air missile systems, aircraft and other weapons and military hardware are under consideration. A number of bilateral agreements in this sphere have been signed in recent years, the press office said. //BelaPAN
