Belarusian entrant second from bottom at Eurovision

Belarus placed 24th among the 25 finalists at Saturday’s 2010 Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo, earning a disappointing 18 points, BelaPAN reports.

"Butterflies," a slow ballad penned by prominent Russian pop composer and producer Maksim Fadeyev and performed by band 3+2 obviously failed to impress European audiences, getting points only from Georgia, Moldova, Russia and Bulgaria.

Belarus had been trailing in last place for most of the voting until the final marks saw it overtake the UK.

The contest was won by Germany, with “Satellite” sung by Lena scoring 246 points. Turkey's MaNga came in second place, with Romania third and Denmark fourth.
