Youths stage anti-addiction demonstration in Minsk

Around 30 young people staged a demonstration in Minsk on Thursday to express their worry about widespread alcohol and drug abuse in the country, BelaPAN reports.

The youths lined up along a road running to Bangalore Square with health warning signs. They distributes leaflets among passers-by, emptied two bottles of cheap fruit wine into a waste container and set fire to poppy seeds.

The Minsk City Executive Committee had sanctioned the demonstration of the Right Alliance youth organization.

The demonstration lasted 30 minutes. Police appeared at the scene at its end. The officers had a brief talk with demonstrators after which the latter dispersed
