Interior ministry to create databank on foreigners arriving in Belarus
The interior ministry is to create a central databank that will contain information about foreigners and stateless persons arriving in Belarus. The databank will be created under the Council of Ministers directive, which specifies the procedure of managing the databank and requires the interior ministry to protect the information in it, BelaPAN reports.
Access to the databank will be available to the foreign ministry, the State Border Committee, the Committee for State Security and the presidential Operational and Analytical Center.
By another directive, the Council of Ministers has authorized the rules for including foreigners and stateless citizens in the country's entry ban list and removing them from the list.
Entry into Belarus may be denied to people who are suspected of or charged with criminal offenses, who have outstanding property, tax or other liabilities to the Belarusian government, legal entities or citizens or whose entry is deemed detrimental to Belarus' national security.
