Lukashenka raises all types of labor pensions

Alyaksandr Lukashenka has, by his presidential edict, raised all types of labor pensions by 12.5 percent, according to the presidential press office. The increases will take effect on August 1, BelaPAN reports.

As a result, August’s average pension will increase by 58,600 rubels to 528,300 rubels ($176), the press office said.

On January 1, 2010, labor pensions were increased by 9.1 percent on the average. Labor pensions currently average out at 468,000 rubels and old-age pensions at 490,500 rubels, with the minimum old-age pension amounting to 217,700 rubels.
