Eased access to be offered to 80 percent of national government`s property on sale, official said
An easy access will be offered to more than 80 percent of the national government`s property on sale, Uladzimir Kavalewski, deputy head of the State Property Fund at the State Property Committee, told reporters in Minsk on July 28, as quoted by BelaPAN.
Only approval from the State Property Committee will be required to sell property costing less than 5,000 times the Base Rate (35,000 rubels or $12 at present), Mr. Kavalewski said.
By his presidential edict issued on July 19, Alyaksandr Lukashenka scrapped the requirement that approval for such contracts should be obtained from the Council of Ministers, the official said.
“The approval procedure is becoming swift and we are now able to spend less spend time on decision-making regarding property disposal and terms for auction sales,” Mr. Kavalewski said. “If you look at the national government’s property, the edict applies to more than 80 percent of it.”
The Committee is now working on new rules that would govern the approval procedure.
The edict also allows buyers to pay in installments for property worth more than 10,000 times the Base Rate. “Previously, it was different and businesses sent us complaints,” Mr. Kavalewski said. “We expect that it will now be easier to sell large facilities for which it is difficult to find a buyer.”
