Lithuania still opposes the projected construction of Belarus` nuclear power plant in the Astravets district near the Belarusian border, Rokas Zilinskas, chairman of the Baltic state`s parliamentary nuclear energy commission, said in an interview with BelaPAN.
"The position of Lithuania has not changed following consultations with Belarus. Belarus has not answered our questions about criteria that were used in picking the area near Astravets for the construction of the nuclear power plant," Mr. Zilinskas said.
Lithuania wants the plant to be located at a distance of more than 50 kilometers off Vilnius, he noted.
