Investment in fixed assets of light industry companies reported up 23.6 percent in first six months

Investment in the fixed assets of companies under the authority of the Belarusian State Light Industry Concern (Bellehpram) increased by 23.6 percent year-on-year in the first six months of 2010 to 130.1 billion rubels ($43.1 million), reported the Bellehpram press office, as quoted by BelaPAN.

The investment accounted for 40.2 percent of the amount projected for the whole year, the press office said. Equipment worth 110.4 billion rubels, or 84.9 percent of the overall amount of fixed capital expenditures, was purchased and installed in the first six months, with imported equipment totaling 103.9 billion rubels.

Bellehpram drew $15 million in foreign loans to finance five investment projects, with $3.9 million to go to carpet manufacturer AAT Vitsyebskiya Dyvany; $4 million to fabric and yarn maker AAT Ruchayka; $6 million to the Baranavichy cotton mill; and $1.1 million and $1.4 million to knitwear companies AAT Svitanak and AAT Kupalinka, respectively.

Eight major investment projects are being carried out under Bellehpram's 2010 investment program, with the investment going to the above-mentioned companies except Svitanak and also to textile companies AAT Mahilyow Textile, AAT Gronitex and AAT Stuzhka and also to Dobrush Porcelain Works.
