Dinamo Minsk on Thursday produced a stunning comeback to beat Maccabi Haifa of Israel and progress into the UEFA Europa League playoffs, BelaPAN reports.
The Belarusian club, which made history after winning the Soviet title in 1982, lost 1-0 to Maccabi in the first leg in Israel and were trailing 1-0 after Vladimir Dvalishvili put the visitors in front in sweltering heat in Minsk on August 5.
However, the Belarusians managed to pull off the unlikely feat of dumping Maccabi out of the tournament thanks to a goal from Aleh Strakhanovich and a brace from Anton Putsila. The latter scored the decisive goal just minutes before the final whistle.
