The Belarusian government is set to make intensive efforts in 2011 through 2015 to give a boost to the service industry in rural areas, Uladzimir Kruk, deputy director general of the Belarusian State Association of Service Organizations, said at a news conference held in Minsk on Thursday, as quoted by BelaPAN.
The work will be carried out as part of a government program aimed at developing a sustainable agriculture economy.
Mr. Kruk said that the authorities were seeking to encourage private enterprise to make a profit by setting up a service business in rural areas.
People are offered tax benefits and are allowed to use transportation of local government-controlled agricultural enterprises to cater for residents of remote villages, he said.
