Contest devoted to Expo 2010 in Shanghai wraps up in Belarus

Eight Belarusians have been declared winners in a contest that was organized by China Radio International (CRI) on the occasion of Expo 2010 that opened in Shanghai earlier this year, BelaPAN reports.

Launched in October 2009 by the CRI’s Belarusian-language page with the assistance of the Chinese embassy in Minsk, the contest was aimed at encouraging Belarusians to learn more about the international exhibition.

Minsk resident Mikalay Pryhodzich won the top prize, a trip to China.

A deputy editor-in-chief of the CRI was present at the ceremony. He praised ties between Belarus and China, noting that the launch of the Belarusian page was designed to contribute to their development.
