Belarus needs more help from China's commerce ministry to carry out economic projects, official says
Belarus needs more help from China's commerce ministry to carry out projects in a wide range of economic sectors, Ihar Voytaw, head of the State Committee on Science and Technologies, said in Minsk on August 24 while meeting with Fang Xenbing, deputy general manager of the Export-Import Bank of China, as quoted by BelaPAN.
Belarusian experts are staying in China to devise specific proposals for how to use China's loans, said the press office of the State Committee on Science and Technologies.
Belarus is open for cooperation in many projects, but needs organizational and technical assistance, Mr. Voytaw said.
Among the promising areas of cooperation are the manufacture of liquid crystal displays, computers and medical equipment, the modernization of the machine-tool building and tool-making industries, high-precision iron casting, the mining and pharmaceutical industries, wind power generation and the development of nanotechnologies, nanomaterials and laser technologies, Mr. Voytaw said.
Mr. Fang expressed readiness to help the two countries carry out joint projects. The Export-Import Bank of China is directly controlled by the Chinese government, he noted.
The Bank can not only help find partners for the projects but also finance them, he said.
