Presidential Administration rejects opposition hopeful’s proposal to hold televised discussion about relations with Russia
The Presidential Administration has rejected opposition presidential hopeful Yaraslaw Ramanchuk’s proposal to hold a televised discussion about the current state and development prospects of the relationship between Belarus and Russia.
“Proposals concerning television shows and projects are in the competence of television channels,” Stanislaw Buka, a senior official at the Presidential Administration, says in his reply.
The proposal was submitted a month ago.
“Alyaksandr Lukashenka bears full responsibility for the country’s foreign policy and the scandalously poor relations with Russia,” Mr. Ramanchuk commented in an interview with BelaPAN. “For 16 years, he has spoken about friendship and partnership with Russia. But now tensions are so high that the recall of the ambassadors may become the next step.”
