Lukashenka offers backing for Georgia's peaceful initiatives
Alyaksandr Lukashenka on Thursday offered his backing for Georgia's peaceful initiatives aimed at solving its dispute with Russia, Georgian media outlets reported.
"The Belarusians are a peaceful people and we dream of the peaceful settlement of problems in any corner of the world," he told reporters on the sidelines of an OSCE summit in Astana, Kazakhstan, on December 2. "We have supported and will always support peaceful initiatives."
Speaking at the summit, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili offered Russia a direct dialogue for the sake of settling their dispute. //BelaPAN
