Lukashenka offers Easter greetings to Belarusians

Alyaksandr Lukashenka has extended his greetings to all Belarusian Christians on the occasion of Easter.

“Easter is not just a holiday; it is the essence of Christianity,” the Belarusian leader says in his message, according to the presidential press office. “It embodies the most significant human virtues, namely mercy, mutual understanding and forgiveness. The resurrection of Christ symbolizes the triumph of truth and high moral ideals, provides life with enduring meaning, and instills faith in the future.”

“Everything wakes up in the beautiful Easter days,” Mr. Lukashenka says. “Joy and love reign in people’s hearts and the desire to do good things again and again becomes stronger.”

“It is particularly symbolic that this year Easter is simultaneously celebrated by all Christian churches,” Mr. Lukashenka says. “Today we need spiritual unity and solidarity as ever before. It is only by the joint efforts of all citizens of our country that we will be able to preserve peace and harmony in our native land.”

“May the joy of Easter bring light, kindness and hope to every home and every family,” Mr. Lukashenka says. “And may no trial destroy our inner spiritual life and the world order.”

Alyaksandr Lukashenka has sent a message of greetings to Russian Orthodox Patriarch Kirill (Cyril I) on the occasion of Easter.

“This feast invisibly unites people and makes nations closer to each other by providing life with the light of kindness, universal love and hope,” the Belarusian leader says in his message, according to the presidential press office.

“We highly appreciate your tireless activities aimed at strengthening Orthodox faith and enhancing the role of the Russian Orthodox Church in society,” Mr. Lukashenka says. “May your prayers help us in our affairs and undertakings, and contribute to the strengthening of the spiritual unity of the brotherly Slavic states.” //BelaPAN
