Two Russian brothers charged with attempted escape from custody following incident at Minsk courthouse

Two Russian brothers have been charged with attempted escape from custody by violence under Article 14 and Article 413 of Belarus’ Criminal Code following an incident that took place at the Savetski District Court in Minsk on Thursday evening, according to the Investigative Committee of Belarus.

While being escorted by police officers, the two citizens of the Russian Federation, aged 35 and 31, reportedly attacked the guards and attempted to escape but were overpowered. One of the brothers had to be hospitalized. A police officer suffered a head injury and was hospitalized as well.

The incident happened at about 5:10 p.m., after a hearing of a fraud case against the Russians. // BelaPAN
