Opposition politicians demand meeting with prosecutor general and chairmen of Supreme Court, Constitutional Court
The leaders of six opposition parties and movements have issued an appeal demanding an urgent meeting with Prosecutor General Ryhor Vasilevich, Supreme Court Chairman Valyantsin Sukala and Constitutional Court Chairman Pyotr Miklashevich to discuss what they call the problem of “total disrespect for the rights and liberties of citizens of the Republic of Belarus.”
According to the press office of the United Civic Party (UCP), the appeal was signed by UCP Chairman Anatol Lyabedzka; Alyaksey Yanukevich, chairman of the Belarusian Popular Front; Syarhey Kalyakin, leader of the “Spravedlivy Mir” (Just World) Belarusian Party of the Left; Vital Rymashewski, co-chairman of the Belarusian Christian Democracy party; Uladzimir Nyaklyayew, leader of the “Tell the Truth!” movement; and Alyaksandr Milinkevich, leader of the Movement for Freedom.
The politicians plan to personally deliver their petition to the addressees on July 15. //
