Nuclear power industry exhibition in Minsk
A nuclear power industry exhibition opened in Minsk on Tuesday.
Almost half of the roughly 80 companies displaying their goods and services at the three-day event represent Russia.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Uladzimir Syamashka said, "When [Belarus' first-ever nuclear plant] is put into operation, it will be indeed the safest plant, it will be equipped with all passive and active safety elements. At the same time, we will try to ensure that the plant is the cheapest and most economical as far as it concerns its construction and operation."
Some exhibitors displayed goods that hardly do anything with the generation of nuclear power. A Vawkavysk-based company showcased a wide range of door locks. //
