Paintings on display at Belarusian State Museum of History of Great Patriotic War

An exhibition of paintings related to World War II opened at the new building of the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War in Minsk on July 4.

On display are paintings from the collections of Belarusian and Russian museums.

In an interview with BelaPAN, the museum's representative, Natallya Filipovich, said, "It showcases works by artists who hailed from Russia but stayed in Belarus after the war. All of them were given the title of Honored Artist of the Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic, some even in 1944. The exhibition features paintings that were displayed during the museum's very first exhibition."
