As many as 51 ice hockey arenas will soon be in operation in Belarus, federation chairman says
As many as 51 ice hockey arenas will soon be in operation in Belarus, Yawhen Vorsin, chairman of the Belarusian Ice Hockey Federation, told reporters in Minsk on Friday, ab quoted by BelaPAN.
The country already has 23 arenas, he noted.
Belarusian leader Alyaksandr Lukashenka, who is known for his special love for ice hockey, aims to have a hockey arena, widely called an “ice palace,” in each of the 118 district capitals in the country.
