Presidential candidate Mikhalevich confident of winning more than 10 percent of vote
Presidential candidate Ales Mikhalevich said on Thursday that he expected to win more than 10 percent of the vote and advance to a run-off round, BelaPAN said.
In an interview given to BelaPAN during his meeting with voters in Mahilyow, the former deputy chairman of the Belarusian Popular Front expressed certainty that he would get at least the second biggest share of the vote in the first round in the event of a "fair and true" vote count.
The 35-year-old politician noted that he did not feel any pressure from the authorities during his campaign.
He said that voters appeared to be most concerned about the economic situation and their deteriorating living standards.
Mr. Mikhalevich revealed that he saw little of fellow presidential candidates during the campaign. "Everyone is conducting his own campaign. We're not criticizing each other and this is a big plus," he stressed.
