Belarusian biathlon star Darya Domrachava wins World Cup mass start race in Italy
Darya Domrachava of Belarus won the women’s 12.5-kilometer mass start race in Anterselva, Italy, on January 22, remaining second behind Germany’s Magdalena Neuner in the Biathlon World Cup’s overall standings.
Ms. Domrachava, 25, missed two of the 20 targets and was the fastest skier in the race. The runner-up, Anastasiya Kuzmina of Slovakia, who missed once, finished some 25 seconds behind the Belarusian star, while Ms. Neuner, who also had two misses, was third.
The victory of Ms. Domrachava, who now has 639 points in the World Cup standings, cut the German’s lead to 57 points.
Another Belarusian biathlete, Nadzeya Skardzina, came 21st in the race. //BelaPAN
