Belarusian delegation attending Spring Meetings of IMF, World Bank
A delegation of top Belarusian officials is attending the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank that opened in Washington on April 18.
The delegation includes Finance Minister Andrey Kharkavets, Economy Minister Mikalay Snapkow and Nadzeya Yermakova, head of the National Bank of Belarus.
While in Washington, the Belarusian officials are expected to meet with the leaders of the IMF and the World Bank, as well as with the heads of the IMF Fiscal, Monetary and Capital Markets, and European Departments, according to the Council of Ministers' press office.
In addition, the officials will hold talks with delegations representing other countries and consultations with international ratings agencies.
"Considering that a number of large international banks and investment institutions keep a high level of interest in cooperation with the Republic of Belarus financial analysts will be briefed about the essence of [Belarus'] economic policy, its main objectives and tasks, the results that have been achieved and plans aimed at the preservation of financial stability," the press office said. //BelaPAN
