Lukashenka refers to youngest son as successor
Alyaksandr Lukashenka on Tuesday referred to his youngest son as his successor who would secure continuity in relations between Belarus and Venezuela.
"Some have started having doubts over the serious prospects for cooperation between Belarus and Venezuela, here is my son Mikalay and this is evidence that we have laid the foundations for cooperation for the long haul and we have someone to pass the baton to in 20 to 25 years," the government`s news agency BelTA quoted him as saying at a meeting with Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez in Caracas.
Waiting for Mr. Lukashenka to arrive at the Miraflores Presidential Palace in the Venezuelan capital, Mr. Chavez talked to journalists, thanked the Belarusian people for its contribution to the development of Venezuela and expressed a high opinion of the quality of Belarusian-made goods, according to the Belarusian leader`s press office.
When Mr. Lukashenka`s motorcade drove to the palace, Mr. Chavez greeted his Belarusian counterpart warmly and insisted that he bring his seven-year-old son along to the talks in Miraflores, the press office said. //BelaPAN
