Azerbaijani president to visit Belarus in late August
Ilham Aliyev, president of Azerbaijan, is scheduled to visit Belarus in late August, Mikalay Patskevich, the Baku-based ambassador of Belarus, told reporters in Minsk on July 9.
He said that the visit would focus on "cooperation in the sphere of innovational development."
"Azerbaijan is actively developing the economy's oil sectors and we are ready to have our developments used there," the ambassador said.
The diplomat added that the schedule of the visit had not yet been approved formally but Mr. Aliyev would certainly visit the High-Technology Park in the Belarusian capital. "Serious attention will also be devoted to cooperation between the two countries' science academies. A number of agreements are to be signed during the visit," he said.
