Olympic bronze medalist Shkermankova picks Vitsyebsk training center for payout from Presidential Sports Club
Weightlifter Maryna Shkermankova, who earned a bronze medal at the London Olympics on Thursday, has picked a junior training center in Vitsyebsk as the recipient of a 50-million rubel ($6,020) payout from the Presidential Sports Club (PSC).
The Vitsyebsk center is where the 22-year-old Shkermankova began her weightlifting training.
The PSC announced earlier that all Belarusian medal-winning Olympians would select a junior training center for financial aid from the organization.
Training centers picked by silver medalists are to receive 75 million rubels ($9,030) and those chosen by Olympic champions are to get 100 million rubels ($12,040) from the PSC. //BelaPAN
