Swimming star Herasimenya wins Olympic silver medal
Belarusian swimming star Alyaksandra Herasimenya won silver in the women`s 100 meters freestyle at the London Olympics on Thursday.
The 26-year-old reigning world champion clocked a time of 53.38 seconds, 0.38 second behind the winner, Ranomi Kromowidjojo of the Netherlands, who won with an Olympic record. China`s Tang Yi came third with 53.44 seconds.
This became Belarus` second medal at the London Games. Weightlifter Maryna Shkermankova won bronze on August 1. //BelaPAN
