Hramada Belarusian Social Democratic Party nominates 15 contenders for House of Representatives elections

The Hramada Belarusian Social Democratic Party (BSDP) nominated 15 contenders for the forthcoming House of Representatives elections at its convention held in Minsk on Sunday, the party’s leader, Iryna Veshtard, told BelaPAN.

“The party had planned to nominate 14 people, but one member of the party, a resident of the Minsk region, expressed his willingness to run for the House during the convention and delegates voted for his nomination,” Ms. Veshtard said.

Each contender was voted on individually by secret ballot, as the party’s charter requires, she noted.

“We gave each contender a full package of documents, which is required for registration as a candidate, such as the minutes of the convention, the party’s charter, copies of the party’s certificates,” she said.

“Now it depends only on the nominees whether they will manage to submit documents for registration on time,” Ms. Veshtard said, noting that August 13 was the deadline.
