No conflict can be resolved through unilateral sanctions, foreign ministry official says
No conflict can be resolved through unilateral sanctions or the violation of a country's territorial integrity and state sovereignty, Uladzimir Herasimovich, head of the Belarusian foreign ministry's International Security and Arms Control Directorate, said in New York on Friday during the 67th session of the UN General Assembly's First Committee.
The numerous international security problems remain relevant and often take on new forms, Mr. Herasimovich said, according to the foreign ministry's press office.
The year 2012 has seen new escalation of military conflicts in a number of Arab countries and the deterioration of their humanitarian situation, he said.
He went on to tell those present about Belarus' stance on international security and arms control issues. //BelaPAN
