Action plan for developing cooperation between Belarus and Moscow signed in Minsk

An action plan for developing cooperation between Belarus and Moscow in the period between 2013 and 2015 was signed at the House of Moscow in Minsk on November 21 within the framework of a series of events collectively called Days of Moscow in Minsk.

The plan was inked by Belarusian First Deputy Foreign Minister Alyaksandr Mikhnevich and Sergei Cheryomin, head of the Moscow government's department for external economic and international relations.

Also signed was a memorandum that provides for holding Days of Minsk in Moscow in 2013.
Belarus is Moscow's most important economic partner among the CIS countries, Mr. Cheryomin noted. The volume of bilateral trade totaled $4 billion in 2011 and is expected to be still higher this year, he said.

"There is a huge metropolis not far from the borders of Belarus," Mr. Mikhnevich noted. "It develops, drives, eats, drinks and falls ill. Of course, it is not only an honor but also a great advantage for us to be a partner of such a city." //BelaPAN
