Economy ministry submits concept for public-private partnership law to government
The economy ministry has submitted a concept for a public-private partnership (PPP) law to the Council of Ministers.
According to the ministry’s press office, the concept was approved by concerned government agencies and business associations, and took into account recommendations from the UN Economic Commission for Europe and suggestions from the Presidential Administration.
PPPs are expected to enable Belarus to eliminate the economic contradiction between the impossibility of selling strategic assets into private hands and the inability of the government to maintain them properly with public funds.
PPP schemes would be introduced in transportation, the utilities sector, the power supply sector, the public health sector, education, culture, tourism, sports, mining and other sectors. //BelaPAN
