Belarus’ Santa Bremor acquires fish packing plant in Russia
Belarus’ Brest-based food company SP Santa Bremor will soon become the owner of a large fish packing plant in Russia, Ambassador Aleksandr Surikov told reporters in Minsk on Wednesday.
The deal is to be completed within the next few days, Mr. Surikov noted. According to him, Santa Bremor currently holds 20 percent of Russia’s canned fish market and the new acquisition will increase its share to more than 30 percent.
As Mr. Surikov noted, in Belarus, there are 2,200 Russian-owned and Russian-Belarusian businesses, which account for 36 percent of the total number of businesses involving foreign capital in the country.
Russia’s Russkoye More officially announced on Monday that it had sold its fish-packing plant in Noginsk, a city in the Moscow province, to “an investor” for $52 million. //BelaPAN
