National Bank head says that she donates half of her salary to charity
Nadzeya Yermakova, head of the National Bank of Belarus (NBB), said on Wednesday that she donates 50 percent of her monthly salary to charity.
"I give away roughly half of my salary to charity. I earn around $2,000 a month," the government's news agency BelTA quoted her as saying during a questions-and-answers session.
When asked to comment on Alyaksandr Lukashenka's decision to declare 2013 the Year of Thrift, Ms. Yermakova said, "I am thrifty already now. Thrift is what we should cultivate in children right from their birth."
The official described thrift as "efficient use of what you have." //BelaPAN
