Foreign ministries of Belarus, Kazakhstan hold consultations in Astana
The foreign ministries of Belarus and Kazakhstan held a round of consultations in Astana on March 5 and 6, reported the press office of the Belarusian foreign ministry.
According to the press office, Belarus was represented by First Deputy Foreign Minister Alyaksandr Mikhnevich and Kazakhstan was represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Samat Ordabayev.
Messrs. Mikhnevich and Ordabayev discussed the implementation of agreements reached at the high and highest levels and preparations for meetings at the high and highest levels in 2013.
A plan of cooperation between the two foreign ministries for 2013 and 2014 was signed during the meeting.
Mr. Mikhnevich also had a meeting with Kazakh Foreign Minister Yerlan Idrissov, during which issues concerning bilateral cooperation and cooperation within the framework of post-Soviet integration alliances and international organizations were discussed.
Mr. Mikhnevich also met with Vladimir Bozhko, Kazakhstan’s minister of emergency situations who co-chairs the Belarusian-Kazakh Interstate Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation.
The previous round of consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries was held in Minsk in February 2012. //BelaPAN
