Alyaksandr Lukashenka and Vladimir Putin will have a face-to-face meeting in St. Petersburg on March 15, ahead of a session of the Supreme State Council of the Belarusian-Russian Union State, according to the Kremlin press office.
A range of issues concerning integration and cooperation are on the agenda of the session, the press office said.
The Supreme State Council held its previous meeting in Moscow as far back as November 25, 2011. The meeting resulted in the signing of an interstate agreement on the gas price formation mechanism for Belarus and Belarus' charge for the transportation of Russian natural gas through the country, an agreement on the terms of the acquisition by Gazprom of the other 50-percent of Belarus' gas pipeline company Beltranshaz, and contracts for the supply of natural gas to Belarus in the period between 2012 and 2014.
Apart from the presidents and prime ministers, the Supreme State Council of the Union State includes the heads of the lower and upper parliamentary houses of the two countries. //BelaPAN
