Market vendors stage fresh strike in Hrodna
Vendors selling clothing at two markets in Hrodna walked off the job on July 2 in protest against the introduction of the Customs Union's new certification rules.
Those few vendors who had planned to open their stalls at the Tsentralny and Pawdnyovy markets on Tuesday morning changed their mind after seeing that their fellow stallholders were on strike, an eyewitness told BelaPAN.
More than 2,000 vendors selling their goods at the two markets joined last week's one-day nationwide strike. It followed a walkout staged by the markets' stallholders on June 16.
Many market vendors in Minsk, Vitsyebsk, Baranavichy, Svetlahorsk and Homyel were also on strike on Tuesday. //BelaPAN
