The Belarusian embassy in Berlin on June 28 gave a reception on the occasion of Independence Day, which is observed in Belarus on July 3.
Speaking at the reception, Ambassador Andrey Hiro said that Belarusian-Germany cooperation was dynamically developing in various areas.
According to the press office of the Belarusian foreign ministry, Mr. Hiro thanked German organizations for their long-lasting assistance in minimizing the consequences of the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear accident and expressed hope for the further development of ties between Belarusian and German sister cities and more active implementation of joint educational and cultural projects.
Mr. Hiro invited those present to visit Belarus during the World Ice Hockey Championship in Minsk in May 2014.
The guests could see an exhibition of photographs and documents, which was organized to mark the 90th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Belarus and Germany.
Those in attendance included Helmuth Markov, the finance minister and vice minister of Brandenburg; top-ranking officials of the former German Democratic Republic; members of the Bundestag, representatives of Germany`s foreign ministry, some other federal ministries and the Berlin city government; diplomats of member countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the European Union; and representatives of the Belarusian community in Germany, business, scientific and cultural circles, charity organizations and the two countries` sister cities. //BelaPAN
