Prime Minister Myasnikovich meets with head of China's company Sinomach
Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich met with Ren Hongbin, chairman of the board of China National Machinery Industry Corporation (Sinomach), in Minsk on July 4.
Mr. Myasnikovich noted that Sinomach was involved in a number of projects in Belarus, including the establishment of the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park and the construction of a bleached pulp plant in Svetlahorsk, Homyel region, according to the Council of Ministers' press office.
Mr. Myasnikovich said that the company had contracted to build industrial facilities worth a total of $1.7 billion. He urged Sinomach to invest in projects in Belarus.
In addition, the prime minister invited the Chinese company to take part in industrial cooperation with Belarusian manufacturers of farm tractors, bearings, machine tools and electric equipment.
Mr. Ren, for his part, thanked Mr. Myasnikovich for his proposals, expressed a high opinion of economic relations between the two countries and expressed certainty that they would further cement their mutually beneficial ties.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Luo Yan, director general of Sinomach's subsidiary China CAMC Engineering Company (CAMCE), said that the establishment of the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park was of mutual interest to both countries. "We are taking efforts to promote this project in terms of attracting funding for its implementation and investors who will be working here," she said. According to her, companies based in China, France, Latvia and Lithuania have already expressed an interest in joining the project. //BelaPAN
