Lukashenka is not on list of heads of state who will meet with Ukrainian president in Kyiv on July 27
Alyaksandr Lukashenka is not on the list of heads of state who are scheduled to meet with Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych in the framework of Christianization anniversary celebrations in Kyiv on July 27.
Mr. Yanukovych is scheduled to meet with the presidents of Russia, Moldova and Serbia on Saturday, said Ukraine's news agency Unian.
Ukrainian newspapers reported earlier this week that Mr. Lukashenka would not travel to Kyiv to attend the celebration of the 1025th anniversary of the Christianization of Russia (Kievan Rus).
Mr. Lukashenka's press office has kept silence on whether he will visit the Ukrainian capital. Syarhey Pelyushkevich, head of the press office, could not be reached for comment since July 24.
Minsk will also host ceremonies to celebrate the Christianization anniversary. Russian Orthodox Patriarch Kirill (Cyril I), as well as the patriarchs of Alexandria, Jerusalem, Georgia and Serbia, the archbishop of Cyprus, and the heads of the Russian Orthodox Church in Poland and America are scheduled to arrive in Minsk on July 28. // BelaPAN
