Belarus had trade surplus of $369.2 million in first half of 2013, National Bank says
Belarus had an export surplus of $369.2 million in foreign trade in goods and services in the first half of 2013, reported the National Bank.
According to the National Bank, Belarus’ foreign trade in goods and services decreased by 16 percent year-on-year to total $44,121.8 million, with exports falling by 20.7 percent to amount to $22,245.5 million and imports decreasing by 10.6 percent to total $21,876.3 million.
In January-June 2013, the country’s foreign trade in goods totaled $38,912 million, an 18.8-percent year-on-year decrease. Exports amounted to $18,903.4 million, a 24.9-percent decrease, and imports totaled $20,008.6 million, a 12-percent decrease, with the deficit being $1,105.2 million.
Foreign trade in services rose by 12.7 percent compared with the first six months of 2012 to total $5,209.8 million. Exports of services increased by 15.4 percent to total $3,342.1 million and imports rose by 8.3 percent to total $1, 867.7 million. The export surplus in trade in services thus amounted to $1,474.4 million. //BelaPAN
