TV presenter Yury Lednik dies at 38
Yury Lednik, a TV presenter and deputy head of Belarusian State Television and Radio Company (BSTRC)'s Television News Agency who often criticized Alyaksandr Lukashenka's political opponents in his shows, has died at the age of 38 after a battle with cancer.
Mr. Lednik worked at BSTRC for more than a decade, the company's spokeswoman, Svyatlana Smalonskaya-Kraskowskaya, told BelaPAN.
A memorial service for Mr. Lednik will take place in Minsk on October. He will be laid to rest at a cemetery in Zaslawye near Minsk on the same day.
He is survived by his wife and two children.
