Foreign Minister Makey meets with Turkish prime minister

Foreign Minister Uladzimir Makey met with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara on November 1, discussing the implementation of bilateral agreements reached during Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s meeting with Mr. Erdogan in 2010, said the Belarusian foreign ministry’s press office.

Mr. Makey reportedly expressed satisfaction with what he said was the positive development of bilateral ties, and described Turkey as an important and promising economic partner of Belarus.

Messrs. Makey and Erdogan expressed an interest in the development and expansion of cooperation for which Belarus and Turkey have the necessary economic conditions. “Under discussion also were joint projects aimed at a considerable increase in mutual trade,” said the press office.

Mr. Makey stayed in Turkey on October 31 and November 1. //BelaPAN
