School bus driver in Homyel region caught drunk driving
Traffic police officers in the Zhytkavichy district, Homyel region, earlier this week caught a school bus driver driving under the influence of alcohol while transporting children to a school.
The 31-year-old man had already brought a group of children from nearby villages to a school in Zhytkavichy and was carrying another group of children when he was stopped by traffic police officers, a spokesperson for the Homyel regional police department told BelaPAN on Friday.
The driver was found to have a blood alcohol content of 0.76, with the legal limit being 0.03, the spokesperson noted.
The man was punished with a fine of 4,550,000 rubels (about $500) and banned from driving any vehicle for a period of three years, the spokesperson said. //BelaPAN
