Mazyr Oil Refinery set to ship diesel fuel to Ukraine by river
Mazyr Oil Refinery plans to ship about 10,000 tons of diesel fuel to Ukraine by inland waterways before the end of this navigation season, according to the company’s press office.
A special tank barge has already arrived at the Mazyr port on the River Prypyats for this purpose and a similar barge is staying in Kyiv, the press office said.
Mazyr Oil Refinery, BNK-Ukraine Ltd. (exclusive importer of Belarusian petroleum products) and other interested entities are considering the transportation of fuel by water on a long-term basis, the press office said.
“If the plans come to fruition, we will be able to reduce the use of tank rail cars, the availability of which frequently becomes a serious problem for us,” the press office quoted Deputy Director General Vital Pawlaw as saying. //BelaPAN
