Russia lifts ban on pork imports from companies in Brest region
Russia’s Federal Veterinary and Phytosanitary Monitoring Service (Rosselkhoznadzor) announced on Tuesday that it will lift its ban on imports of pork and live hogs from a number of companies based in the Brest region on January 9.
Rosselkhoznadzor said that it had made the decision after studying measures taken by the Belarusian authorities to tackle the spread of African swine fever and conducting inspections at the companies.
The companies include Brest Meat-packing Plant, Byaroza Canned Meat Plant, Pinsk Meat-packing Plant, Ruzhany-Ahra, and the Belavezhski and Beldan hog complexes.
Rosselkhoznadzor warned that it would be testing products supplied by the companies to Russia. //BelaPAN
